HC Deb 02 February 1948 vol 446 c236W
108. Mr. Keenan

asked the Minister of Food if he will insist on the prices per lb. of meats, lamb, mutton, and fish when offered for sale by butchers, and fishmongers, being displayed on, or alongside the food as the present method of hanging up a price list in the shops cannot be seen or read by the customers, and they are thus overcharged.

Mr. Strachey

All retailers must display the meat and fish price schedules in a conspicuous position where they can be easily read by the customers and I am afraid that is as far as we can go in this matter.
