HC Deb 02 February 1948 vol 446 cc211-2W
4. Mr. Cooper

asked the Minister of Transport if the London Transport Executive has an Advisory Council; what is the total number of members; what are their names and whom do they represent; and whether they include Members of Parliament or representatives of consumer interests.

Mr. Barnes

The London Transport Executive has no advisory council, but there are several committees on which appropriate representation for considering transport problems in the London area is secured, and I have sent my hon. Friend particulars. I hope soon to be in a position to appoint a Consultative Committee for London under Section 6 of the Transport Act, 1947.
