asked the Minister of Transport why Scotland is eliminated from any share in the Atlantic passenger shipping services.

Mr. Barnes

The Transatlantic passenger ships which served the Clyde before the war are no longer available, and I am informed that while the serious shortage of passenger ships persists there are no other ships that can be diverted to this service.
