§ 92. Commander Agnewasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, having regard to the passing of a resolution by the Camborne-Redruth Urban District Council that its administrative area should now be scheduled as a Development Area, and the high rate of unemployment there, he will consider making an order directing that the area he added to the First Schedule of the Distribution of Industry Act, 1945.
§ Mr. BottomleyAs the hon. and gallant Member will see from paragraph 90 and Section 3 of Appendix I of the recent White Paper on Distribution of Industry (Cmd. 7540) the claims of Camborne and Redruth have been fully considered. In our view such action is not appropriate for this area but the Board of Trade will continue to steer industry there to provide work for the men now unemployed.
