HC Deb 09 December 1948 vol 459 c74W
77. Viscount Hinchingbrooke

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware of the deterioration of a number of private roads and streets in the Borough of Weymouth and whether, in view of the growing danger to public health and risk of personal injury he will now authorise the borough council to carry out the necessary repairs.

Mr. Bevan

1 can only authorise works on private streets where their condition is really dangerous; within this limitation I am prepared to consider proposals from local authorities.
