§ 90. Mr. Hurdasked the Minister of Town and Country Planning if, in view of the serious traffic congestion and delays caused by the operation of Covent Garden market, he is putting forward proposals for the removal of the market outside the centre of London.
§ Mr. KingIn addition to traffic congestion, many other considerations of physical and economic planning govern the future of Covent Garden market. Various suggestions have been made for improving the organisation and location of the market, and these are under consideration by the appropriate authorities. Any replanning of the Covent Garden area will of necessity be a long-term project.
