§ Mr. Randallasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the outcome of the discussions of the National Whitley Council in regard to changes in the Civil Service Superannuation Code.
§ Sir S. CrippsI am glad to say that agreement has been reached on a number of matters and in particular on the desirability of introducing a contributory scheme for the provision of pensions to the widows, orphans and certain dependants of civil servants. Most of the proposals on which agreement has been reached will involve legislation and a Bill will be introduced as soon as possible to give effect to these proposals.
