Mr. Palmer

asked the Attorney-General the number of divorce petitions filed; the decrees absolute granted; the number of judicial separation petitions received; and the number of cases in which the King's Proctor intervened in the last period for which statistics are available.

The Attorney-General

In 1947 there were filed 47,041 petitions for divorce; 58,041 decrees absolute were granted. One hundred and forty-nine petitions for judicial separation were received. The King's Proctor intervened in altogether 30 cases.
