67. Mr. Scott-Elliotasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will take steps to ensure that the present rate of production in the British film industry will be increased sufficiently to provide employment for those technicians who are now unemployed.
§ Mr. BelcherYes, we shall certainly continue to do all that we can to ensure the highest possible output from British film studios. The most effective means to that end will be to promote a revival of confidence—not only among film producers but also among those responsible for financing them. In addition, I would refer my hon. Friend to the replies given to my hon. Friend the Member for Greenwich (Mr. Reeves) on 13th April and to the hon. Member for Bucklow (Mr. Shepherd) on 15th April.
