asked the Minister of Food what is the total number of motor cars provided for the use of his Department's personnel.

One hundred and sixty-eight cars are provided for the use of the Ministry of Food staff in this country, and a further 23 cars for representatives overseas.

79. Lieut.-Colonel Corbett

asked the Minister of Food how many motor cars are provided for the use of food inspectors; and what is their average monthly petrol allocation per vehicle.

Fifty-two cars are provided for the use of enforcement inspectors, and 28 cars for other food inspectors. The average monthly allocation of petrol per vehicle is 32 gallons.
