§ 97. Mr. Marplesasked the Minister of Works how many prosecutions have been instituted and how many convictions obtained up to the latest convenient date for offences against Defence Regulation 56A in respect of contravention of the £10 limit imposed on building operations where the estimated value of the work carried out exceeded £50 and was below that value, respectively.
§ Mr. DurbinThe £10 limit was applied to the whole of Great Britain from the 1st August, 1945. The number of prosecutions from the 1st October, 1945, to the 31st December, 1947, was 688 of which 630 were successful. The number of these cases in which the value of the work done was less than £50 cannot be discovered without consulting a large number of local authorities.
