HC Deb 14 April 1948 vol 449 c75W
68. Mr. J. Morrison

asked the Minister of Agriculture what is the average margin of profit permitted by his regulations on the sale of a pig, allowing for labour in the cost of raising.

Mr. G. Brown

There is no control by regulation over the' margin of profit in pig-rearing or feeding. The prices of fat pigs, in common with other farm products covered by the guaranteed price system, are fixed in relation to national production requirements and a general study of economic and financial data, which are considered at annual reviews.
