HC Deb 14 April 1948 vol 449 cc73-4W
66. Mr. C. S. Taylor

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware of the serious breakdown of the telephone service affecting the business section of Brentford, Middlesex; and what steps are being taken to overcome the long delay in remedying the defect which is causing inconvenience and hardship to the local community.

Mr. Hobson

The interruptions were caused by two unrelated cable faults which occurred on 4th and 5th of April, and. repairs were put in hand immediately. In each case a large cable was involved and a new length of cable had to be drawn in and jointed. The work was completed by midday on 8th April.
