§ 8. Mrs. Ayrton Gouldasked the Secretary of State for War why the British Military Administration which is responsible for maintaining order in the Ogaden area, under the Anglo-Ethiopian Agreement, 1942, has refused to protect the employees and installation of the Sinclair Petroleum Company, engaged in oil extraction in the Ogaden under a concession granted by the Ethiopian Government to the Company, who have been attacked by armed bands with the consequence that oil extraction has been suspended and the Company's representatives have been obliged to retire for safety to Dire Dawa.
§ Mr. ShinwellAs my hon. Friend the Member for St. Pancras, North (Mr. House) was informed in reply to a similar Question on 6th April, a report on this matter has recently been received. I am, however, not yet in a position to make a statement.
