HC Deb 12 April 1948 vol 449 c50W
Sir P. Hannon

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will issue a guide book compiled by a competent authority on the natural beauty and historic interest of the island of Cyprus; what steps he is taking to encourage visits from Great Britain and the British Commonwealth; and to improve the transport facilities as far as possible.

Mr. Creech Jones

A report recently drawn up by an expert in the development of the tourist trade is at present under consideration in Cyprus. Until the Governor has come to a decision on the recommendations in that report, I regret I am unable to give an answer to the second part of the Question.
