Hannonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will issue a guide book compiled by a competent authority on the natural beauty and historic interest of the island of Cyprus; what steps he is taking to encourage visits from Great Britain and the British Commonwealth; and to improve the transport facilities as far as possible.
Mr. Creech JonesA report recently drawn up by an expert in the development of the tourist trade is at present under consideration in Cyprus. Until the Governor has come to a decision on the recommendations in that report, I regret I am unable to give an answer to the second part of the Question.
