79. Mr. Baker White

asked the Minister of Works if he is aware that stocks of bricks for which there is no immediate use are piling up at brickyards; that short time is being worked in some yards; and if he will take immediate steps to prohibit the importation of foreign bricks.

The answer to the first two parts of the Question is "Yes." Any bricks now being imported are due under private contracts of long standing, and no applications for import licences have been made in recent months.
