HC Deb 12 April 1948 vol 449 cc40-1W
74. Mr. E. P. Smith

asked the Minister of Supply if he will take action to remedy the shortage of small mesh wire-netting, hop wire, barbed wire and steel tubing, 1½ in down, from which agriculture is suffering generally.

Mr. G. R. Strauss

My information is that most essential agricultural requirements for these goods are being met. There may, however, be isolated cases of shortages and arrangements are made to make supplies available when information about such shortages is received.
