§ Mr. EdeThese are the animals for which a special certificate "F" is required. The number of experiments during 1946 was 229 (190 "A and F"—i.e., without anaesthetics, and 39 "B and F"—i.e, with anaesthetics). Our records do not show how many of the animals were horses, asses and mules respectively: generally speaking it is the horse which is used.
