Colonel Ropnerasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he can give full particulars as to the grounds on which the European Economic Conference was informed that this country expects a coal output of 214 million tons in 1948 and 249 million tons in 1951; and in particular what was the information about the numbers of miners, absenteeism, percentages, output per manshift and increased supply of mechanical mining devices which were used in arriving at this conclusion.
