65. Mr. W. J. Brown

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what progress has been made with the payment of increases to pensioners under the Pensions (In-crease) Act, 1947; and in how many cases payment is still outstanding.

Mr. Dalton

Increases have now been paid to 55,000 Civil Service and 18,000 teacher pensioners. The number of outstanding cases is 20,000 and 42,000 respectively.
