asked the President of the Board of Trade whether any modifications are to be made in the plans for the 1951 Exhibition as a result of the economic crisis.

As my hon. Friend the Member for Mansfield (Mr. B. Taylor) was informed on 28th March by the then President of the Board of Trade, it will not be possible to stage an International Exhibition in London in 1951, but the proposal will be reviewed in a few years' time.
