Mr. Bowerasked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that the traffic diversion at the bottom of Hay Hill, by which traffic wishing to enter Berkeley Street from Berkeley Square is diverted up Hay Hill and into Albemarle Street or Bond Street, serves no useful purpose but only increases the volume of traffic in the two latter streets; and if he will have it removed.
§ Mr. CallaghanThis diversion has been part of a big experiment to help the flow of traffic along Piccadilly. My right hon. Friend proposes to seek the advice of the London and Home Counties Traffic Advisory Committee before reaching a final conclusion. Meantime, I have taken note of the hon. Gentleman's views.
