§ Sir E. Graham-Littleasked the Prime Minister, in view of the successful prosecution for seditious libel brought by the Director of Public Prosecutions against a provincial editor, whether he will instruct the Director of Public Prosecutions to 7W consider prosecuting on a similar charge the editor of the "Jewish Standard," and whether he will now reconsider his answer of 18th April, 1947, to the hon. Member for London University with regard to advertisements by Government Departments in that journal.
§ The Prime MinisterI am informed that the case to which the hon. Member refers is stillsub judice. With regard to the second part of the Question, all advertising by Government Departments in the "Jewish Standard" has now ceased because of an increase in that paper's advertising rates, which was considered to make the cost too great in proportion to the results.
