HC Deb 27 November 1947 vol 444 c306W
Mr. Digby

asked the Minister of Health if he has considered a communication from the Bridport Town Council, protesting against the instructions recently issued to local authorities to confine the provision of new houses to miners and agricultural workers; and, having regard to the large number of applications received by the Council from people at present living in deplorably overcrowded conditions, what action he proposes to take.

Mr. Bevan

Yes. The circular referred to, of which I am sending the hon. Member a copy, does not confine the provision of new houses to miners and agricultural workers; the housing proposals of the Town Council are under consideration in accordance with the principles stated in the circular.
