HC Deb 25 November 1947 vol 444 c263W
Mr. Chamberlain

asked the President of the Board of Trade what is the amount of the special reserve of paper for technical, scientific and general educational textbooks, administered by the Publishers' Advisory Committee; and what proportion this bears to the total amount of paper available to all publishers.

Mr. H. Wilson

The special reserve administered by the Publishers' Committee amounts to 1,750 tons of paper for the current four months' licence period, of which at least 1,250 tons is to be used for educational textbooks. This special reserve is equivalent to 9 per cent. of the total allocation for books.
