§ Mr. J. Freeman; The quantity of copper purchased by the Ministry of Supply in the first 10 months of 1947 was about 230,000 tons. Owing to the differences in quality and specification an average price would not have any significance, but, in general, prices were closely related to the New York export price of electrolytic copper, which varied during that period between £109 7s. and £132 per ton f.a.s.
