§ Commander Galbraithasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty if he will state the amounts and cost of oil fuel and petrol consumed by the Royal Navy in the year ended 30th June, 1947, and give an estimate of the amounts to be consumed in the year to 30th June, 1948.

Motor spirit … 27,000 Aviation spirit … 25,000 Oil fuel of all kinds … 1,662,000 I regret it is not possible to give the value of these quantities as it is not in accordance with usual Government procedure to disclose information which might lead to the revelation of prices tendered by contractors.
