HC Deb 19 November 1947 vol 444 cc190-1W
85. Mr. Bossom

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power how much aviation spirit has been used by civil aircraft in 1947; and how much has been allocated for 1948.

Mr. Gaitskell

In the first nine months of 1947, consumption of aviation spirit in this country for civil purposes was 67,650 tons, including consumption by aircraft engine manufacturers. Consumption in 1948 may reach 130,000 tons but no close estimate is possible at the present time.
