asked the Minister of Works when he proposes to take steps to implement the recommendations of the Report on the Welsh Slate Industry, prepared by a committee set up by him.

Steps have already been taken to implement all the main recommendations of the Report on the Welsh Slate Industry, except the proposals for financial assistance to this industry, and on that matter I am awaiting the report of the technical examination to which I referred in my reply of 28th July.
