HC Deb 17 November 1947 vol 444 c146W
134. Colonel Ropner

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he can now make a statement concerning the progress which has been made during the last twelve months in providing farms with electricity.

Mr. Gaitskell

Premises where a supply of electricity would be of direct assistance to food production are accorded priority and progress in connecting them is limited only by the amount of materials available which unfortunately remains insufficient to meet all priority needs. Some 3,000 farms were connected to the public supply in the year ended 30th September last.
