HC Deb 17 November 1947 vol 444 c131W
66. Mr. Peter Freeman

asked the Minister of Supply whether it is his intention to continue the Metal Produce and Recovery Depot at present operating near Oxford; how many are working there; and what opportunities will be afforded to the existing staff for a continuation of their work in view of its highly technical character.

Mr. G. R. Strauss

This depot will continue to operate at least until the end of March, 1948. Its future after that date is at present being considered. The total number at present employed is 660. Redundant staff will be able to make use of the Appointments Department administered by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour.
