HC Deb 13 November 1947 vol 444 cc105-6W
95. Mr. Stubbs

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the water supply schemes of the Chesterton Rural Council, Cambridge, which have been provided at considerable expense, are held up owing to the difficulty of obtaining pipes; and will he take steps to provide a speedy solution of the difficulty.

Mr. Bevan

I am aware that considerable difficulty has been experienced in the Chesterton Rural District Council area, as elsewhere, in obtaining lead and copper pipes for making house connections to mains which have recently been laid by the Council. These materials are in very short supply but I am seeing whether anything can be done to expedite delivery.
