§ 117. Mr. Beechmanasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that there is a shortage of vacuum flasks in West Cornwall for fishermen who need hot drinks in winter weather; and what steps he is taking to remedy the shortage.
§ Mr. G. BrownYes. The shortage affects all parts of England and Wales. As my right hon. Friend indicated in answer to a Question on nth November, the distribution of one well-known make of vacuum flask is controlled by means of priority permits. Of these about 45 per cent. of the fishery allocation goes to the South-West of England, and applicants must wait their turn for flasks as for other scarce goods.
