§ Mr. Piratinasked the Minister of Health on how many occasions he has exercised his powers under the Water Act, 1945, to amalgamate two or more undertakings into a joint board, and to transfer an 220W in the short-term sterling liabilities of the United Kingdom to the countries named between 1st January, 1947, and 31st August, 1947, the date nearest to 20th August for which figures are available.

§ Mr. BevanI have exercised my powers under the Water Act, 1945, on the following numbers of occasions for the purposes indicated:
To amalgamate two or more undertakings into a joint board—None.
To transfer an undertaking:
- (a) From one local authority to another—None.
- (b) From a company to a local authority—Two.
- (c) From a local authority to a company—None.
- (d) From one company to another—One.
In addition two orders setting up joint water boards have been made by me under Section 6 of the Public Health Act, 1936, since the coming into force of the Water Act, 1945.
