§ Mr. F. Noel-Bakerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will ensure that there are sufficient police on duty near schools in the borough of Brentford and Chiswick to escort schoolchildren across streets on their way to and from school.
§ Mr. EdeI am informed by the Commissioner of Police that police perform duty at a number of school crossing places in the Borough of Brentford and Chiswick, but owing to the manpower shortage and the pressure of other duties it is not possible for police to be present at all schools.
