CrippsI am aware that the agreement reached with the Scotch Whisky Association to increase exports of Scotch whisky will reduce the supplies available at home, and I am informed the Association are endeavouring to secure the most equitable distribution possible of these supplies. It would be administratively impracticable to make special provisions for tourists in this case

Macdonaldasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the inadequate dollar return resulting from the shipment of Scotch whisky direct to the U.S.A. at only £3 per case, whereas, if a proportion of this whisky was sent to Bermuda for consumption by Americans in that island, it would produce a far greater dollar return; avid whether steps will be taken to divert part of the whisky exports in this way.
