§ 30. Mr. Swinglerasked the Secretary of State for War how many Polish troops are now stationed in the rural districts of Stafford and Cannock; what canteen and welfare facilities are provided for than; and how many have been granted leave in the past six months.
§ Mr. BellengerThere are 3,666 Polish all ranks stationed in the rural districts of Stafford and Cannock. Welfare facilities are available to them on the same basis as those available for British troops. There are eight canteens, one all ranks' club and one hostel in the area. Leave is granted on the same scale as for British troops, that is to say, 10 days every four months, but due to the movement of units into and out of the area the exact number who have been granted leave is not known.
