82. Mr. Baldwinasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether it is proposed to approve a recommendation of the Land Commission Report in Nyasaland that the systematic reduction of cattle in over-grazed areas should be secured, if necessary, by compulsion.
Mr. Creech JonesThe Land Commission Report is under consideration by the Nyasaland Government I have no doubt that the recommendation mentioned will be carefully noted by that Government. They are fully aware, in connection with their postwar plans for the introduction of a comprehensive policy of land usage, of the desirability of limiting the numbers and controlling the management of cattle.
