86. Mr. H. D. Hughesasked the Minister of Town and Country Planning what progress has been made with the outline plan for the West Midlands area; and when an interim report will be available.
§ Mr. F. MarshallIn my right hon. Friend's reply of 5th November, 1946, to my hon. Friend, the Member for Burslem (Mr. Edward Davies) he explained that the plan for the West Midlands area was to be prepared in two parts. Work on the first part, that covering the three counties of Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Staffordshire with the exception of North Staffordshire, has begun and substantial progress has been made in the collection of material from planning authorities and other sources. The arrangements made do not provide for an 137W interim report, but contact will be maintained as necessary by the consultants with the advisory council of the local authorities concerned.
