§ Sir H. Webbeasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the recommendations of the Curtis Committee that charities caring for children should acquire up-to-date and smaller premises, coupled with the high prices of such premises at the present time, he will consider exempting premises to be acquired for such purposes from the proposed increased stamp duty.
