Mr. J. Griffiths

The numbers of applications for extended unemployment benefit received in Scotland to nth April, 1947, which is the latest date for which figures are available, are 12,290, 3,377 and 92 for Men, Women and Juveniles respectively. In 10,611, 2,146 and 57 of these cases, respectively, the applications have been admitted. I should add that a certain number of applications were still under consideration at that date.
