§ 14. Mr. Errollasked the Minister of Fuel and Power what will be the estimated annual additional operating cost of generating electricity through using oil fuel at the new Bankside power station.
§ Mr. ShinwellThe increase in operating costs due to oil firing cannot be assessed until the contract for the supply of oil has been made, and I would remind the hon. Member that the station will not be completed for about three years. The increase will be partly offset by savings in the cost of construction.
