§ Mr. AlexanderI am advised that whole-time service in the armed forces of the following countries, in addition to those of the Dominions and Colonies, is, or will shortly be, on a voluntary basis only: Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, the Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Transjordan, the United States of America, and Uruguay. As to the last part of the Question my hon. Friend would not expect me to anticipate the Debate on the National Service Bill.
