HC Deb 26 March 1947 vol 435 cc209-10W
Mr. Edward Davies

asked the Minister of Supply what civilian commodities are in the course of production at the Royal Ordnance Factory, Swynnerton, Staffordshire; what number of men and women are engaged; and what is the maximum staff which will be employed.

Mr. Wilmot

This factory is engaged on the following work of a civilian nature. the production of electrical ceramics, the recovery of steel, brass and copper from surplus ammunition, the repair of boots, and laundry work and the manufacture of clothing for the Services. The total employment at the factory is approximately 2,375, and it is hoped to maintain it at about that level.
