HC Deb 26 March 1947 vol 435 c202W
71. Colonel Hutchison

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will now make a statement on the future of a modern airport at Hong Kong.

Mr. Creech Jones

I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Croydon, South (Mr. Rees-Williams) on 12th of February. A technical survey party of officers of the Ministry of Civil Aviation have recently conducted a survey of the available sites suitable for the construction of an airport in Hong Kong and their preliminary report is now under consideration. I am in consultation with the Governor on the financial aspect.
