Wallaceasked the President of the Board of Trade if, when calculating the solid fuel requirements of industrial undertakings, due regard is paid to the position of undertakings who have, by strict economy in the national interest, reduced their fuel requirements to the 176W absolute minimum required to maintain production and consequent employment.
§ Mr. BelcherThe regional fuel allocation committees have been asked to consider the reduction of supplementary allowances in the case of firms reported to them by the regional officers of the Ministry of Fuel and Power as having made no effort at fuel economy. The general question of fuel efficiency will be taken into consideration in working out the new scheme for the allocation of coal to industry during the summer months.
