§ 92. Mr. Peter Freemanasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that ex-Servicemen are having to wait over 4½ months for a pair of trousers on demobilisation; and if he will take steps to expedite the delivery in view of the inconvenience to which they are thus subjected.
§ Mr. BellengerThe great majority of released Servicemen receive their full civilian clothing entitlement upon the day of release. In a few instances those requiring stock size garments may have to wait about 10 days, the sizes required not being immediately available at the time 169W of release. Those requiring special measure garments are now being supplied within about two months. I am not aware that delays of 4½ months are occurring. If my hon. Friend will send me details of any such cases I will have them investigated.
