§ 62. Mr. Osborneasked the Minister of Agriculture if he is aware that 33 oil stoves were brought into the rooms used by the A.E.C. in Eagle House, Friar Lane, Leicester, and that 200 gallons of petrol were set aside for their use, whilst the rest of the tenants in the building had to work in the cold; and if it is his policy to allow priority to civil servants at a time when people in rural areas with no other means of heat and light are finding it difficult to obtain paraffin supplies.
§ Mr. T. WilliamsOil stoves were supplied for the committee's offices after the central heating system in the building, for which the owners were responsible, had been out of action for several days through lack of fuel. Application was made by the local executive officer to the Petroleum Board for the necessary paraffin, and supplies were obtained. No request was made for priority and there is no reason to suppose that the paraffin was supplied at the expense of people living in rural areas.
