§ Mr. Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies why a British subject in Malta who desires to travel to this country has to pay a deposit of £10; and in what circumstances it is refundable.
Mr. Creech JonesThis deposit is required only of persons intending to settle or seek employment outside Malta in case they become destitute and require repatriation. It is repayable after 12 months or on earlier return to Malta.
