§ 93. Mr. Manningham-Bullerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the number of Jews to whom immigration certificates were granted admitting them to Palestine in 1946; and the number of Jews so admitted who had been detained as a result of seeking to enter the country illegally.
Mr. Creech JonesDuring 1946 immigration certificates were granted to 19,500 Jews (including 1,500 in respect of quota periods falling in 1945 and 1947), of whom 11,976 had attempted to enter the country as illegal immigrants.
